ONE Championship has initiated legal proceedings against Rodtang Jitmuangnon in Singapore, Japan, and Thailand, citing repeated breaches of contractual obligations. The promotion also accused Rodtang of making statements it considers potentially defamatory and said it is seeking appropriate damages through legal action across multiple jurisdictions.
The Thai star has repeatedly expressed frustration over the circumstances surrounding his ONE contract and the growing tensions with the promotion over the past few months, voicing his concerns publicly.
“ONE would like to issue a clear and transparent statement to our fans, athletes, and partners,” the promotion said. “At this time, we have initiated legal proceedings in Singapore, Japan, and Thailand against ‘Rodtang’ due to multiple breaches of his contractual obligations with ONE.”
“In the past, we have made continuous and sincere efforts to work with ‘Rodtang’ in good faith. However, after the contractual obligations were repeatedly disregarded, it became necessary for us to take appropriate and decisive action.”
The announcement comes just weeks before Rodtang’s scheduled title fight against Takeru.
Rodtang responded on social media, saying he signed his contract in 2022 but only received a copy in November 2025 and cannot read English.
“I signed the contract in 2022. I asked to see the contract and only received it in November 2025. On top of that, I can’t even read English,” he wrote.
“I don’t intend to fight against what is right, but I am ready to fight against what is wrong. I am a poor man who takes care of my family… if something is not right for me, I truly cannot accept it.”
